Wow! What an amazing first day. At just a day and a half into the campaign, Be Your Beauty is already over 40% funded! We are so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share our campaign and everyone who has backed the book so far! With Kickstarter, the first week is the most important part of the campaign, with the first five days being the most paramount. So if you haven’t backed yet please do as soon as possible, and please share with your friends!!
We’d like to address a couple of questions that we’ve received the first day.
1) The collectors edition looks amazing, but what will the regular hardcover book look like? Almost the same! It is just as large as the one in the video, only without hard card stock pages. Not cheap, thin pages though! High end “100 lb” paper is used, printed in America with outstanding photo quality with eco friendly inks. The regular hardcovers will still be 12” by 12” and the pages will be around an inch thick, wrapped in a beautiful removable dust jacket. Still a very substantial book, just not quite as thick or heavy (the collectors edition weighs 4 kilograms!) We will use the same printing company as the author’s first book “Blue ~ A Mindfulness Tale,” so you can expect luscious, vibrant colors printed on paper of superiors caliber. We don’t have any copies of “Be Your Beauty” standard hardcover books yet (hence the Kickstarter), but we will post a video of Blue soon so you can see just how gorgeous the quality of printing you will receive. .
2) Why is shipping so high!? We went to great lengths to get the most accurate weight and dimensional descriptions for each of the rewards. We even have Curioos printing their art prints in both America and Germany to save you money on international shipping fees. Unfortunately, to ensure that the book’s will be printed with eco-friendly inks and the highest quality paper, we are printing all of our books in America through a company we are familiar and very happy with. These books are quite large- 12” by 12” and 96 pages- so shipping costs are quite high. We are using stamps.com to get even cheaper postage rates than the US postal service offers, and we are passing that savings along to you. Please remember that this book is already priced at half the retail price after the campaign, and that shipping prices will only go up in the future. Act now!
